I came

April 13th, 2008 | Category: Random Rant

If anyone out there can direct me to what magazine and issue this was scanned from, please let me know. I soooo need to have the original.

Narg came in 3.14159 seconds.

The picture is relevant to my needs and full of win: Yuki Nagato as a loligoth is so wrong and so right at the same time.

Dragon Quest Ren’ai

April 13th, 2008 | Category: Console Gaming

After beating Dragon Quest Swords, I realized something: the world needs a Dragon Quest Ren’ai. I’m dead serious here: the dialog menu for the series already has the look and they have a “pick an answer” system in place. If someone knows Yuuji Horii, please tell him we need this! It’s perfect I tell you.

French Hawtness

From DQ1 there’s Princess Gwaelin, DQ2 has the Princess of Moonbrooke, DQ3 can use the Female Fighter and Female Nun (who are fairly popular with the hentai doujin community), DQ4 gives us Princess Alena plus prerequisite twincest in Mara and Nara, DQ5 provides tomboy Bianca and submissive Flora, in DQ6 we have “girl next door” Mireyu and mysteruous Barbara, DQ7 showers the tsundere in Maribel and Aira, DQ8 gifted the world with oh-so-sexy Jessica, and finally DQ Swords has nun loligoth Fleurette.

Now if that’s not a winning lineup, I don’t know what is!

Soul Calibur 3 CAF

April 06th, 2008 | Category: Console Gaming

If you’re a fighting game fan, then you already know Soul Calibur 4 is gonna kick ass. While I’m not so pleased about the whole Yoda and Darth Vader thing, I’m really excited about the Create-A-Fighter feature making a huge comeback. Hopefully I can recreate the two designs I use in Soul Calibur 3. Being the total geek that I am, I’ll even share them with ya!

Assassin

This is my Wave Sword combatant, using the Assassin class. Like most characters with robe or cape accessories, there’s some overlapping issues with the outfit’s polygons during the heat of a battle - mostly from the back of the Gown in a windy environment - but the level of annoyance is ultra minimal. I’ve seen much worst, and you honestly have to be looking. As for inspiration on the design: I wanted a regal looking assassin who dual wielded. After picking out the clothing, I incorporated some loligoth elements into the appearance. Although red was already the default color for most of the parts involved, I darkened it to a blood shade.

Pirate

This design is my Chinese Sword combatant, using the Pirate class. Zero polygon overlapping whatsoever… well except for the Spy Belt (although it happens rarely). For those looking for cheap thrills, omit the Body Suit from her lower torso and you get more bounce, if ya catch my drift. Personally, I felt she looked better without exposed cleavage. The idea for her came to me while I was randomly looking through the parts, and wanted to create something using the Feminine Outfit. I liked how it exposed the shoulders, and using the Prayer Pants to expose her lower legs made a great contrast to that. Emerald green is one of my favorite colors.

The King of Fighters XI

April 06th, 2008 | Category: Console Gaming

Bought The King of Fighters XI for the Playstation 2 this morning, which set me back about $15 (including tax). After hearing you have to log 720 hours of game time before you can unlock the first hidden character (Adelheid in case you’re wondering), I decided to borrow my neighbor’s Action Replay. No way in Hell am I gonna leave my PS2 running idle for an entire month. I like the “daisuki oniichan” Rugal clone, but I don’t like him that much.

Adelheid and Rose

I’ve kinda been out of touch with the KoF series ever since the ‘98 edition. Not that I disliked the franchise or anything… just that better stuff was around - namely Guilty Gear. However I really enjoy the newest character designs. Oswald is badass in every definition of the word (to the point of being broken and overpowered), while Momoko is pure cuteness beyond cuteness (not to mention hard as hell to master). Ironically enough, if I’m reading the Internet postings correctly, neither are seen highly by the series developers. They’re just “filler characters” for the plot. Hopefully the fan support will change the company’s mind on this. The wicked yet yummy loligoth Ninon Beart was born from the same origin - now she’s far more popular than her “developer loved” counterparts.

HeroMachine

April 05th, 2008 | Category: Tabletop Geekery

Found some old images I created with a paper doll maker called Hero Machine. These were done with the original 2.0 release years ago. Back then, you had to pay around $10 for it. The newest versions are supposedly free. Most “no art talent hacks” use the program to create comic book superheroes. For some odd reason, this “no art talent hack” used the program to create fantasy adventurers. I was probably in a D&D campaign or something. Click on the images to see a larger version.

Anime 40K

April 05th, 2008 | Category: Tabletop Geekery

Back in 2003 an online friend named Hank Adams and I were major fans of the Ah! My Goddess series and Warhammer 40,000 miniatures. In a rather bold and highly geeky move, we worked together in creating an amalgamation of the two: Codex: Ah! My Goddess. Sometime later, I put together a similar work for Excel Saga. A lot has changed since then - Games Workshop has revamped their game lines with new editions and my love of anime has greatly waned - nevertheless I still have the PDF handbook to these fictional armies. Download them and have a laugh: Codex: Ah! My Goddess and/or Codex: Excel Saga.

Scion: Hero

April 05th, 2008 | Category: Tabletop Geekery

Several weeks ago, I was suckered into taking part in a Scion: Hero campaign with some friends. For those who aren’t aware, its a tabletop role-playing game by White Wolf (same guys who produce the much more popular, World of Darkness. Mechanically the game is severely broken - mostly due to the rulebook woefully lacking clarifications and working examples of the playing system. However the sheer role-playing appeal is undeniable: it essentially chronicles your first steps on the road to godhood. Newly designed characters with zero experience can perform stunts like juggling automobiles, dodge bullets, instantaneously regenerate grievous wounds, command powerful mythical creatures like dragons, and manipulate the fabric of reality. Not once or twice per gaming session mind you; were talking every action turn. Ever want to be a character like Dante in Devil May Cry or Kratos in God of War? Well there you go: that’s what Scion is all about.

The character I’ve created for myself is conceptually based on the various “gun priests” who do the gun-fu thing. See the action flick Equilibrium if you’re lost on that. I’m 100% dual wielding Desert Eagle badass madness; son of the goddess Persephone and commanding the powers of Death itself. Below are my actual stats. For all you min-max maniacs: we were only allowed to use material found in the Hero rulebook while generating our characters. The stuff in Demigod and God were off limits: at least until we achieve those divine status. In any case, I’ve never been much of a min-max player anyways.

Clive Barker's Jericho

Other Notes: The Necronomicon allows Rozen to channel the Death Purview. Curse of Life and Gift of Death add Speed -1 to the Desert Eagle template. They also hold a unique power that allows Rozen to factor his Perception and Epic Perception attributes for calculating damage in the same manner as Strength and Epic Strength attributes are ordinarily factored for melee weapons, when utilizing the twin firearms.

Narg returns!

April 04th, 2008 | Category: Random Rant

I really don’t know how you found this place, but if anyone is actually reading this, you are now looking upon the reincarnation my personal site - or rather it will be. There’s no real significance to the whole thing: the junk you’ll find here, simply serves to stroke my rather insignificant ego. Unfortunately I don’t actually have anything to post right now. I suppose I could dredge some stuff off my hard drive over the weekend.

Because I’m too damn lazy to design an original, I’ll be cycling through various Wordpress templates I run across, in hopes of finding one that best appeals to my visual senses. Of course being a financially struggling American bastard - eroge ain’t cheap - these selections are limited to the freebie offerings.
